Lazy Red Wine Sangria

IMG_47791

Easy and stress-free entertaining is always important for me especially because I love hosting parties and cosy evenings with friends. One of the best ways to get a crowd going is with some starter cocktails and my personal favourite is Sangria. You really don’t need a reason or summers to prepare this celebratory drink. This drink is so simple and easy to make – you will want to make this for your next party. I know! I know, it’s Halloween soon – put your creative hats on and name it something spooky instead. 🙂

I started making sangrias to avoid pouring down half-filled wine bottles down the sink. Sangrias to me signify summer (even when it is cold outside), spontaneity and great conversation starters with a group of friends. This sangria for me is the way a good sangria should be – slightly sweet and plenty of fruit. But you are free to add more or less fruit, add more sweetness as needed or even make it boozier. It is totally your choice.
Just have fun with it and enjoy! 🙂

INGREDIENTS
1 bottle chilled dry red wine
1/2 cup brandy / white rum
1 cup orange juice
250ml club soda
300ml Sprite / 7UP
1 Orange, cut into thin rounds
1 Key lime, cut into thin rounds
1 Apple cored and cut into 1/2-inch chunks
Few raspberries
Ice chunks as needed

3. Refrigerate until well chilled and all fruity flavours are married to each other, approx an hour.
