Pineapple and Basil Lemonade

Summer is finally upon us now that we back to our office routine. Our 3 weeks of vacation saw gloomy rainy weather throughout. But that never dampened our spirits and we enjoyed it nonetheless. How is the weather your part of the world?

Come summers, temperatures begin to soar high leaving everyone feeling fatigued, sweaty, and messed up. As we welcome summers, we try to refresh and replenish our body with some of the best summer beverages in order to beat the heat.

Pineapple & Basil Lemonade

Here is a refreshing Pineapple and Basil Lemonade to beat the summer. The pineapple brings in the sweet tartness we all love, and the basil just cuts the acidity and tartness. All in all balancing out the lemonade with a lovely herbal flare.

Servings: 4

INGREDIENTS

1/3 of a pineapple, cored or frozen pineapple
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
5-8 basil leaves
2 1/2 cups water
Ice for serving

METHOD:

  1. Skin and core pineapple set aside. Using frozen pineapple is a good option too if you want to skip coring the pineapple
  2. In a blender, add pineapple, basil, lemon juice, and water.
  3. Blend until smooth. Check for the tartness of the pineapple & add sugar if you need it.
  4. Add ice and serve immediately.

This recipe can also be used to make granitas or popsicles. Freeze into moulds if so.
